Seoul to Host Int'l Cartoon & Animation Festival

The 13th Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival will open on July 22nd for a five-day run at the COEX convention center and the Seoul Animation Center.

This year's event will mark the 100th birthday of the Korean cartoon industry.

Cartoon exhibitions will be held and some 400 animated films from 35 countries will be screened as part of the festival.

Renowned cartoonist Huh Young-man and animation producer Hwang Sun-kil will be honored at this year's event for their contributions to the development of the domestic cartoon and animation industries.
