That is the most successful performance ever by a Korean band in Japan.

Other Korean boy bands have come second in the Japanese charts, such as Beast with "Shock", MBLAQ with "Your Love" and Super Junior with "Bonamana", but SHINee are the first to achieve sales of nearly 100,000 copies in the first week. Oricon said SHINee's debut single sold 91,000 copies in the first week, surpassing the record for a Korean group of 59,000 copies by Super Junior.

Meanwhile, SHINee made a headline in June 19 when they became the first Asian musicians to give a live performance at the famous Abbey Road Studio in London.
