Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo Granted Amicable Divorce

A court on Monday gave the green light to soap superstars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo going their separate ways in a divorce that has devastated fans.

Their marriage after they starred together in the 2016 mega-hit soap "Descendants of the Sun" lasted only a year and nine months. Song Joong-ki filed for divorce on June 26.

The Seoul Family Court authorized the divorce in a closed-door hearing.

The actress' management agency in a statement Monday said the couple agreed to separate without seeking alimony or a split of assets.
