Ahn Jae-wook's transformation on the latest episode of "Lights and Shadows" was surprising.

On the thirty-first episode of MBC drama "Lights and Shadows", Kang Ki-tae (Ahn Jae-wook) managed to escape from prison with Jo Tae-soo (Kim Rwe-ha) after being put in jail. Kang Ki-tae was seeking revenge on Cha Soo-hyeok (Lee Pil-mo) and Jo Myeong-gook (Lee Jong-won).

"Lights and Shadows" is following Kang Ki-tae and his developing character, and we can see his transformations. In the beginning of the drama he was the son of a cruise leader and was sly and playful. It seemed like the perfect role for singer and actor Ahn Jae-wook, who sometimes sang and danced in the drama every once in a while.

This wasn't the end of Kang Ki-tae and Ahn Jae-wook. As the situations changed, Kang Ki-tae changed into a character who dreamt of seeking revenge for his father. He is successfully transforming his character according to the situations.

After he successfully broke out of prison on the thirty-first episode, he showed strong indications he would go back to Seoul, saying, "I can't live in the dark while they live out in the sun" when Tae-soo recommended stowing away in a ship.
