Previously, a medical university professor's quasi-rape became the talk of the town and Oh-reum became discouraged and wondered if she had made the right judgment. She'd given him a severe penalty.
Jeong Bo-wang (Ryu Deok-hwan) went to their office and told Im Ba-reun and Park-Cha Oh-reum to turn on the TV and they were shocked to hear that professor Joo Hyeong-min tried to kill himself.
Park-Cha Oh-reum collapsed and worried that she was wrong. She recalled what Han Se-sang (Sung Dong-il) had said and Im Ba-reun comforted her.
Cha Oh-reum was suffering from a media onslaught and Ba-reun and Han Se-sang watched her. Han Se-sang felt bitter and when he was drunk, he said, "I'm sorry you have such a useless chief attorney".
Seong Gong-choong (Cha Soon-bae) happened to take the appeal on this case. The protestors appeared again in front of the court and yelled insulting remarks to Park-Cha Oh-reum.
Oh-reum was scared and she said, "I did my, best but if it wasn't then how do I take responsibility for it? Did I really do my best? Did I have second thoughts? I am scared of myself because I am not God".
Ba-reun said to her, "I know you best of all. I would have judged him guilty as well. I am not lucky, but I am skilled".
Ba-reun went to the NJ Group heir Min Yong-joon (Lee Tae-sung) and knelt in front of him, apologizing. However, Min Yong-joon said, "I will have you kneel before the law one day. It seems hard at first, but it's okay once you get used to it".
Im Ba-reun tried to comfort Cha Oh-reum as much as he could, but she only leaned on his shoulder and cried. Then she went to Han Se-sang and gave him her letter of resignation in order to take responsbility.
