On the eighth episode of the KBS 2TV drama "Oh My Geum-bi", Yoo Geum-bi (Heo Jung-eun) felt her symptoms getting worse and told her doctor Kim Woo-hyeon (Kim Dae-jong) about it.
Yoo Geum-bi told him how far her disease has progressed and asked how long she would live. Kim Woo-hyeon nearly cried at the sight of the little girl who was asking him these questions so bravely.
Kim Woo-hyeon explained to her about the disease. He also told her to relax as a medicinal treatment would help her.
After seeing the doctor, Yoo Geum-bi walked a little with Hwang Jae-ha (Park Min-su). She jealously looked at students in uniform and the grown-ups on the street.
Hwang Jae-ha asked what she was looking at and Yoo Geum-bi said, "Everything. So pretty".
The Niemann-Pick disease is a child's version of Alzheimer's and the patient is expected to die before turning twenty. Yoo Geum-bi wants to become a student and mother but never will be because of her condition.
