On the twenty-eighth episode of the KBS 2TV drama ""The Merchant: Gaekju 2015", Bang-geum (Yang Jung-ah) was shot by a sniper sent by Gil So-gae (Yu Oh-seong).

Gil So-gae was asked to kill Jo Seo-rin (Han Chae-ah) by Mae-wol (Kim Min-jung) so he ordered a sniper to kill the woman holding a child. Then he sent soldiers to Chunga to arrest Jo Seong-joon (Kim Myung-soo-I) who was once his enemy.

Bang-geum was at Chunga and was shot while trying to run away with Jo Seo-rin's son Yoo Soo who started crying.

The sniper thought Bang-geum was Jo Seo-rin.

Bang-geum who was shot, died in Jo Seong-joon's arms after saying, "We had fun back in the day with you and Man-chi when we carried a load on our backs. I was happiest then and I respected you. I am sorry, my dear, for our pitiful Man-chi".
