Stars Who Have Lost/Gained Weight for Their Characters
By Lily Lee | Published on | Source
When actors and actresses give their all to the role they chose, they will put literally everything into their work. Such time is put into the effort of being one with their character including research, practice, and even changing their appearance. Certain characters are portrayed as someone with few extra pounds such as our lovely Bok-joo from "Weighlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo", and some are portrayed as thin, sensitive person like the doctor in "Bluebeard". Therefore, the actor and actresses will go on a strict diet to either gain or lose weight according to it.

"Beethoven Virus" 2008 -> "Closer to Heaven" 2009
"Sassy Girl, Chun-hyang" 2005 -> "Cheese in the Trap" 2015
"Very Ordinary Couple" 2013 -> "Monster - Movie" 2013
"S Diary" 2004 -> "My Lovely Sam Soon" 2005
"Gunman in Joseon" 2014 -> "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" 2016
"Silmido" 2003 -> "Rikidozan" 2004
"Entourage" 2016 -> "Bluebeard" 2016
"Reply 1997" 2012 -> "Love Rain" 2012
"Becky's Back" 2016 -> "Missing You - 2016" 2016
Looking at these impressive results and also looking at my scale and failed diet, I wish I had their determination! It is certainly not easy to work their weight like it's a rubber band, expanding and shrinking in such a short time but it shows how passionate they are in acting. Moment of applaud to these stars!
