According to a report by Segye Biz & Sports World on the 18th, Teo Yoo has received an offer to play the role of Lee Won-pil and is currently reviewing the project.
"Wednesday, Thursday, Friday" is a human melodrama set in a restaurant that operates only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. It centers on the romance of a man and a woman who reunite with a lost love in the very place where they once lost it.
The project brings together director Jeong Dong-yoon, known for "Stove League" and "Gyeongseong Creature" and writer Joo Hyeon-I of "The World of the Married". The drama is currently in talks for scheduling on a terrestrial broadcasting channel. Previously, Lee Jin-wook and Shin Min-a were reported to be positively considering roles as chef Kim Dong-wook and ceramic artist Cha Eun-soo, respectively.
This would mark Teo Yoo's return to television dramas after some time. Since debuting in the film "Actresses" in 2009, he has built a compelling image through a wide range of characters.
In "Chocolate", he portrayed a devoted romantic who expressed his feelings wholeheartedly, while in "Money Game", he gained praise as a 'sexy villain' for his role as a cold-hearted corporate raider. He has also appeared in Netflix series such as "The School Nurse Files" and "Love to Hate You", and joined the 2024 variety show "Music Adventure by Accident", where he showcased a free-spirited travel journey.
Teo Yoo has especially solidified his presence in the film industry. He gained international recognition with "Leto", which was invited to the competition section of the Cannes Film Festival, and expanded his career as a director with the documentary "Log in Belgium".
Through "Past Lives", he became the first Korean actor to be nominated for Best Actor at the 77th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), and was also invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which hosts the Academy Awards. He is also set to star in the upcoming Hollywood action thriller "Karoshi".
