On the second episode of the KBS 2TV two-part drama "The Happy Loner", Gong Myung played the part of Park Byeok-soo, a timid but honest and lovely character. He put on quite a performance.
He blended in with his character and didn't mind that he looked ridiculous. Reviews about his act are quite favorable.
Byeok-soo was childish and cute but sometimes he was gentle and sincere when it came to comforting Ji-yeong (Min Hyo-rin).
Gong Myung's eyes, expressions, gestures and emotional delivery stood out and depicted the psychology of those lonely people living in this modern society.
"The Happy Loner" is a realistic romantic drama of the 2030 generation and related with many realistic character psychology. Ji-yeong the individualist and Byeok-soo the character with lack of love related with many people, especially the part where Byeok-soo pretended to be alright to hide his scars and loneliness.
In addition, using the common factor of being lonely, Ji-yeong and Byeok-soo were able to rely on each other.
