The late Lee Sun-kyun was chosen as the winner of the 29th Busan International Film Festival's Korean Film of the Year Award. In response, the Busan International Film Festival held a special program called "The Fine Man, Lee Sun-kyun" and screened six of his masterpieces, including "My Mister" and "Parasite", and held special talks together.

At the opening ceremony held on October 2nd, a video clip of the deceased's interviews was released, drawing attention. Fellow actors including Song Joong-ki, who was watching the deceased's life-long commitments, shed tears.

Park Bo-young, the host of the opening ceremony, said, "I hope you are at ease now, just like the last greeting of "My Mister"," and Ahn Jae-hong said, "I hope it will be a meaningful time of commemoration. The Korean Film Achievement Award will be delivered to the bereaved family".

While the film "A Hard Day", released in 2014, was selected as the representative film of the deceased, Cho Jin-woong, who co-starred and director Kim Seong-hoon, who directed the film, attended a special talk held on October 3rd and commemorated the deceased.

Director Kim Seong-hoon said, "He is an actor who is just the right amount of good-looking", and shed tears. "He is very pretty both as an actor and as a person", he said, and was speechless for a while.

Cho Jin-woong, who worked closely as a partner, said of his fellow actor Lee Sun-kyun, "He is the real tsundere. I don't have a brother but he felt like one", he said, wiping away tears. "I'll keep remembering him. I hope you all remember him, too".

A day later, at the drama "My Mister" special talk held on Friday, more intense emotions were exchanged. Park Ho-san and Song Sae-byeok, who worked with director Kim Won-seok as the three brothers in the drama, lamented the choice of the deceased, while expressing anger to the public.

"A chance could have been given even if he had committed a crime but it was not a crime and there was no evidence", director Kim Won-seok said. "The public holds all the power. Actors and actresses are weak. Shouldn't we punish those who leaked ridiculous and false information?"

"Lee Sun-kyun hated being embarrassed but the whole world was pointing fingers at him", Park Ho-san said. "There's nothing to be embarrassed about. It's okay", and Song Sae-byeok said, "The line 'Are you at ease' touches to me". Finally, director Kim Won-seok said, "I know Lee Sun-kyun. No matter what he did, I believe in him".

Meanwhile, the 29th Busan International Film Festival will close on the 11th.
