"The Silenced" Uhm Ji-won, "I want the Best Supporting Actress Award"

Uhm Ji-won claimed that she wants the Best Supporting Actress award.

The actress was interviewed by News N on the 10th and she claimed she wants the award this year.

Uhm Ji-won said, "I am grateful to Lee Hae-yeong for keeping me in mind when she wrote about the headmaster. The movie is really about two girls, so I'm basically a supporting role. If anyone was to write a screenplay with me in mind, I plan on going on board regardless if it may be the main or supporting role. I met Lee Hye-yoeng in "The Festival" and I thought I was just doing her a favor by making a short appearance in this movie".

"I connected with the scenario right away. There was a lot of hidden messages and I thought about the character which I could create by following them. Usually it's hard to find a scenario that good but there are tough times".

Uhm Ji-won yelled in delight when she found out she played a bigger role than she thought. I like working with the same people because it shows that we get along as a team".

"I have worked with many people more than once and this is my second time working with writer Kim Soo-hyeon, too. If that person thinks of me and calls me again I know that I wasn't that bad. I am happy with the fact that they ask for me again despite the amount of scenes I appear in".

Uhm Ji-won is not 13 years into this career but she hasn't had much luck in getting awards. The Best Actress she got for "Hope" last year was her first.

"I really am unlucky when it comes to getting trophies. I never 'wanted' one before until I came in contact with "The Silenced"".

"I never expect my name to be called at award shows even if I am a candidate. Sometimes my manager thinks I'm too harsh on myself, but this time, I felt something different. I don't know why, but I know I'll be embarrassed if I don't get anything".

Meanwhile, "The Silenced" is a mystery movie about the things that happen when a girl witnesses girls going missing at a boarding school in Kyeong-seong during the 1938 Japanese Invasion. The movie will be released on the 18th.
