Earlier, Son Sukku was embroiled in controversy over his so-called 'fake acting' remarks. At a press conference for the play "Army on the Tree", he said, "I was told to whisper love while acting, but I didn't understand why you had to put a microphone on me or something to make me do fake acting. So I quit and went to movies", he said.

In response, actor Nam Myung-ryul said on social media, "I just laugh. That arrogance. Just say you're better with media.
