Yongsan District Has Most Expensive Apartments in Seoul

The Hill compound in Hannam-dong in Seoul's Yongsan district is the most expensive residential complex in the capital.

A 244.7-sq.m townhouse-style unit at the compound sold for a record W8.4 billion in January (US$1=W1,216).

All of the 100 most expensive apartments complexes are concentrated in four Seoul districts -- Gangnam, Seocho, Seongdong, and Yongsan -- according to real estate app Zigbang on Monday.

Yongsan topped the list at W5.02 billion in terms of the average sales price, followed by Seongdong (W4.91 billion), Gangnam (W4.35 billion), and Seocho (W4.05 billion).

Yongsan also had the biggest number of top-priced apartments with 43.

In Seongdong just north of the Han River, six apartments were on the list, five in the Galleria Foret complex and the other in the Seoul Forest Trimage complex, all in the district's Seongsu-dong.
