Yonsama Film Sets Japanese Box Office Record

The film, "April Snow", featuring local star Bae Yong-joon, has earned more than two-billion yen as of Sunday, the best-ever box office total for a Korean film released in Japan.

According to the Nikkan Sports Daily, the film broke the previous two-billion yen record set by the movie, "Windstruck".

The only other Korean movies to draw over one billion yen in Japan are the 2000 action blockbuster "Shiri", "Windstruck", " JSA - Joint Security Area", and Korean war epic, "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War".

The daily said "April Snow" had finished sixth in ticketing during the weekend, stretching its run in the box office top ten to five weeks.
