The crime flick "Veteran" is likely to hit the 10 million mark for cinema attendance soon as viewership exceeded 9 million by Sunday.

Earlier this summer, the period espionage film "Assassination" achieved the feat, so if "Veteran" meets expectations, this will be the first summer that two Korean films draw 10 million viewers in a season.
The flicks were released two weeks apart.
"The Attorney" and "Frozen" both broke 10 million in the 2013-14 winter season.
Korean films accounted for 64.4 percent of the market in August, recovering from lackluster performance earlier this year.
