4Minute's Nam Ji-hyun Chooses to Use Her Mother's Family Name

Nam Ji-hyun from 4Minute is now Nam Jihyun.

She posted a handwritten letter on her Instagram on the 28th explaining the change.

Nam Jihyun started the letter with the words, "I remember debuting in June of 2009 and gradually grew. I had a lot on my mind as I decided to become an actress".

"There was confusion inside me accepting new things. Changing my name won't change much, but I truly wanted to use my mother's family name and create new memories with that name".

"It's taken me a while to come to this decision. Please understand it wasn't an easy decision. I would appreciate your support".

Nam Jihyun turned to acting after 4minute disbanded.
