Lee Chang-dong was influenced by Hou Hsiao-hsien's realism, & forced to do gangster genre in his 1st film. Don't judge this based on his later movies. This has great emotional value for the Korean generation who lived through the story.

i just love how the plot was written and i think jang geun seok is one hell of a boy. ha ji won is one heck of an actress. she can make it big! and i think yoo tae-joon is a versatile actor! ^___^

this korean series was great.. it made me cry a lot.. i really love jang geun suk, hope 2 see him soon.. ha ji won has a great potential in acting..especially drama..=p
