"Black Hand" scarier without the ghost

The first horror film of the year "Black Hand" had a media day at the Wangsipri CGV in Seoul. The movie tells the story of the horrible things that happen to Go-eun (Yoo Kyeong), who had a hand inosculation, and her boyfriend and surgeon, Kim Sung-soo (Jeong-woo).

The characters of the movie are doctor Kim Sung-soo who has a promising future, his secret mistress Han Go-eun and Shin Jeong-seon, daughter of the director of the hospital who envies them. The characters are typical and the relationships between the characters are also not something we haven't seen before.

The answer is in the subject matter. The movie added fresh subject matter into an obvious get-up. The whole thing starts when Han Go-eun gets a hand inosculation led by Kim Sung-soo. The topic of bioengineering and 'transplant using the alteration of DNA' draws interest. The suffering of the inosculation patient scares the living lights out of the viewer who has to continuously analyze and track down the cause of the side effect. The operation was perfect, but what went wrong?

This is Han Go-eun's first horror film and that's one of the reasons why so many were looking forward to it. The result is that she did a good job and it looks like she finally found the right character for her. She starts off with being a kind girl but eventually becomes vicious. The way she opens her eyes widely is enough to make everyone gasp in horror. Her job as a plastic surgeon is also very suitable for her.

The only thing that's missing is that there is no intimacy in the movie despite the fact that it is an adult rated movie. Kim Sung-soo also mentioned that the bed scenes had been completely edited out and hopefully that was the right thing to do. The movie needed an intimate scene to appeal with the audience the relationship between the man and the woman. Their affair should have been reflected as unobtainable through emotional and detailed scenes.

Many people expected to see some intense intimacy between Kim Sung-soo and Han Go-eun but were disappointed.
