Cha Joo-young appeared on TVN's entertainment program "Hang Out With Yoo", which aired on the 19th. She said she finally passed the two-month-long audition after giving it her heart.
"I auditioned for nearly two months. I met the director every week (with the same script). I wondered why he wouldn't drop me already. They say it's an audition, but I think they wanted to pick me. I think they wanted to see how much more I could express that character", she said.
Still, Ahn Gil-ho's final inspection came in when she had reached the limit. "The director asked me how I was with a bright face, and I could only say, "I've been like sh*t" and he loved it".
"That is what the character should have been like. I was stiff and nervous during the audition. I think he was just observing me".
In the drama, Cha Joo-young showed off her overwhelming presence by appearing as a stewardess, a typical 'strong to the weak and weak to the strong' type of character.
"I am a player, but I was also an audience. Other actors desperately put their lives on the line", Cha Joo-young said. "I asked the director what was expecting from the audition. He said 'desperation'".
Cha Joo-young, who made her name known in "The Glory", joined the ranks of top stars by transforming into a strong and intelligent Wongyeong in "The Queen Who Crowns".
