Choi Sung-eun Joins Netflix's "Grandma" With Lee Jung-eun

Actor Choi Sung-eun has joined the cast of Netflix's upcoming original series "Grandma".

According to an exclusive report on July 9th, Choi Sung-eun will appear in the new Netflix original series "Grandma". The project marks her fourth collaboration with Netflix, following "The Sound of Magic", "My Name Is Loh Kiwan", and the upcoming series "Road - Drama".

"Grandma" follows Sook-ja, a woman who runs a gun shop with her husband and lives an ordinary life until her grandson suddenly returns home dead, shattering her world. As she uncovers the truth behind his death and becomes entangled in a mysterious proposal, her life takes a dramatic 180-degree turn. The series is based on the Kakao webtoon of the same name.

It was previously announced that Lee Jung-eun will star as Sook-ja, the grandmother who embarks on a quest for revenge following her grandson's death. The cast also includes acclaimed actors Kim Mu-yeol, Seo Hyun-woo, and Huh Joon-ho, further raising anticipation for the series. Choi Sung-eun is set to take on an action role, promising a fresh interpretation that differs from the original webtoon.

Choi Sung-eun made her acting debut in the 2019 film "Start-Up" and won the Best New Actress award at the 25th Chunsa Film Art Awards. Since then, she has continued to build a diverse filmography with roles in "Gentleman", "My Name Is Loh Kiwan", "Mad Dance Office", and the dramas "Beyond Evil", "The Sound of Magic", and "Last Summer", showcasing her versatility as an actress.
