"My Unfamiliar Family" is a drama about misunderstandings and understanding between family and other family-like people helmed by PD Kwon Young-il and written by Kim Eun-jeong. In a situation where parents and children spend less time together and more time with each other as they get older, they form relationships with people who know more secrets about them than family. The story eventually falls on people, and family bonds between people who are family although they don't know much about 'me', and people who are not family, but know a lot about 'me'.
Choo Ja-hyun takes on the role Kim Eun-joo, the eldest of a family and former patent attorney from an elite school who dreams of an ordinary life after marriage. She's a woman of massive pride who doesn't talk to anyone about her concerns and is a rational and logical character. She's cold and objective to everyone, including her mother and siblings, but she's only generous to her father. She feels distant from her husband and family after she gets married, and feels herself changing.
The news of Choo Ja-hyun's casting in "My Unfamiliar Family" creates great anticipation, because she'll go through a transformation in character as the responsible eldest daughter of a family and the wife of a man. She co-stars with Han Ye-ri, who plays her sister, Kim Eun-hee.
Meanwhile, "My Unfamiliar Family" comes out in the first half of the year.
