On July 23, Disney+ unveiled the cast lineup for its upcoming original series "Code", starring Nam Joo-hyuk, Lee E-dam, Kim Eui-sung, and Park Hoon.
"Code" is a mystery crime thriller that follows a morally corrupt lawyer who bends both the law and the rules. His life takes a dramatic turn after he is invited to use "Code", a mysterious app that grants people's wishes.
Nam Joo-hyuk plays Yoon Tae-joo, a former prosecutor's office investigator turned lawyer. Determined to become a partner at the country's top law firm, he will stop at nothing to achieve his ambitions.
One day, Yoon Tae-joo receives an invitation to the mysterious app "Code", setting him on a path into a dangerous spiral of greed and desire. Nam Joo-hyuk is expected to showcase a darker, more avaricious side than ever before.
Lee E-dam stars as Park Ji-dam, a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office who investigates the truth behind the app-related cases. Having a history with Yoon Tae-joo, she finds herself locked in a tense battle of wits with him.
Kim Eui-sung plays Jo Cheol-ho, a North Korean defector and hacker, while Park Hoon takes on the role of Im Chang-jae, a detective in the violent crimes unit. Both characters lend their support to Yoon Tae-joo.
The series is directed by You Su-min, who earned acclaim for Netflix's "Weak Hero Class 1" and "Weak Hero Class 2", known for their intense action and compelling coming-of-age storytelling. With "Code", You Su-min explores the darker side of human desire.
"Code" is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ next year.
