Creepy, Hilarious, Sweet, 3 Webtoons Find Their Place in Drama

While making dramas of popular webtoons has become a trend, a series of original webtoon dramas that are as unique as they are different are coming to the home screens.

OCN, which is focusing on thriller and genre dramas, recently released a webtoon drama called "Strangers from Hell" on the 31st of August. Written by Kim Yong-ki, "Strangers from Hell" is a popular series which started on Naver Challenge Webtoons in 2017 and started officially publishing on Naver Webtoons in March of the following year. The first episode got off to a good start with an average viewership rating of 3.8% (based on Nielsen Korea's paid platform).

One late night of heavy rain, Yoon Jong-woo (Yim Si-wan), the main character, closes the door to his gowison. But someone's shadow rubs through a gap in the door, and a stranger attacks Jong-woo, who has bolted out of his door. The drama is also Yim Si-wan's comeback piece since he has been discharged from the military.

TvN presents the new Friday / Saturday drama "Pegasus Market". It is written by Kim Gyu-sam, who is known for his other reputable Naver webtoons. "Pegasus Market" is the comical story of an elite manager (Lee Dong-hwi) who tries to revive the low-quality, no-statement mart. The store is lagging behind traditional commercial districts, while a 'human bulldozer' boss (Kim Byung-chul) tries to run it down.

KBS 2TV releases "The Tale of Nokdu" on the 30th. It is based on the original by writer Hye Jin-yang who uses ink-and-wash techniques on her webtoons. "The Tale of Nokdu" is a fun Joseon romantic comedy about Jeon Nok-doo (Jang Dong-yoon), who dresses up as a woman to enter a village of widows, and Dong Dong-joo (Kim So-hyun), a young woman who doesn't want to become a gisaeng.
