Director Kim Ki-duk to Be Honored by Culture Ministry

Kim Ki-duk, director of the award-winning film "Samaria", will receive a cultural decoration from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday.
Kim, who in February received the Silver Bear for best director at the Berlin Film Festival for "Samaria", will be given the Order of Culture Merit Pogwan (Jewel) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Kim is being honored by the ministry for "letting the world know of the high quality of our films and helping the progress of Korean films", according to the ministry's news release.

The award will be given by Minister Lee Chang-dong at the minister's office.
