The film, "Inside Men: The Birth of the Wicked", is set in the late 1980s and explores the origins of the 'insiders' within a massive cartel forged through the collusion of the media, capital, and political power. It is the official prequel to "Inside Men".
Ha Jung-woo will play Lee Kang-hee, a newspaper reporter who dreams of breaking a major corporate corruption scandal but is sidelined by external pressure. With his relentless investigative skills and keen eye, he becomes a key figure in the formation of the powerful cartel that ultimately comes to control South Korea.
Ahn Bo-hyun will take on the role of Ahn Sang-goo, the head of an entertainment agency who starts from the bottom and relentlessly pursues his own success and revenge.
Park Hae-joon will portray Jang Pil-woo, a first-term lawmaker who has just entered politics after ending his career as a prosecutor.
Jung Sung-il-I will play Oh Hyeon-soo, the chairman of Mirae Group, who builds the company into a major conglomerate by any means necessary.
Kim Min-bum, who worked as an assistant director on "12.12: The Day" and "The Flu", and Kim Jin-seok, who served as an assistant director on "Harbin", "The Man Standing Next", and "Veteran" and adapted Disney+'s original series "Made in Korea", will co-direct "Inside Men: The Birth of the Wicked".
The film is currently in pre-production, with production scheduled to begin in 2026.
