The negative comments are specifically directed at a fan cafe that goes by the name of "The Real". The rumors stem from Choi Jin-hyuk's abrupt departure from "The Last Empress".
As has been consistently demonstrated by Choi Jin-hyuk and others, the reason for the departure was because "The Last Empress" received an extension. Due to other scheduling commitments, Choi Jin-hyuk was unable to continue for these final episodes. There are no credible indications that acrimony had any bearing on the decision.
