Though most of the attention regarding South Korean film festivals at the moment is aimed toward Busan, Kim Dong-ho has been quietly moving to improve the profile of the Gangneung International Film Festival, which will premiere this November in the Gangwon province of South Korea.

Kim Dong-ho has long been a veteran of the South Korean film industry, and did much to bring about the Busan International Film Festival's slow rise to prominence.
A major recent move to bolster the festival position has been the appointment of Ahn Sung-ki to an advisory position. The popular actor, most recently seen in "The Divine Fury", has long been a positive force for the development of film culture in South Korea. The Gangneung International Film Festival will run from November 8th to November 14th in various Gangneung theaters, showcasing seventy movies from twenty different countries.
