[HanCinema's News] "Hijack 1971" Breaks Million Viewer Mark

According to figures released by the Korean Film Council on June 30th, "Hijack 1971" broke the million viewer mark at approximately 10:00 AM on that same day, a Sunday, in its second weekend. "Hijack 1971" released a photo via social media accounts of the principal cast at a guest visit to thank fans for the milestone. However, the overall performance of "Hijack 1971" has been relatively weak.

"Hijack 1971" only just barely outperformed "Handsome Guys" in its opening weekend, the 1971 era aviation thriller earning 331,972 admissions to 321,935 admissions for the shamanistic romance horror comedy. Both South Korean films are being far outperformed by the American film Inside Out 2 in its third weekend, where it earned 1,013,814 admissions as it closes in on the six million viewer mark.
