[HanCinema's News] "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" Hits Number Six in Netflix World Rankings

On July 13th "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" hit a major milestone in world exposure when it ranked in the top ten of the Netflix world wankings. "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" was the highest ranking Asian drama in the world rankings for that day, although other dramas from Germany, Australia, Colombia, and Turkey also appeared on the list.

While the Netflix world rankings include all shows on Netflix, including variety shows and cartoons, dramas tend to predominate the list. There is also much variation between regions, as is to be expected. "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" had consistently held the number one spot in the individual rankings for Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam for the previous week. In South Korea and the Phillipines it had either the number one spot or the number two spots over that same timeframe.
The strong performance of "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" internationally via online streaming is noteworthy, as its domestic terrestrial ratings in South Korea have been quite weak, hovering around the 5% range. Much like "Arthdal Chronicles" before it, "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" is likely to be seen as a success on the production end as international streaming metrics have increasingly taken priority in South Korean drama production versus traditional television ratings.
