By William Schwartz | Published on
As has already been planned, Kang Ji-hwan was taken into custody on July 12th at noon. The surprising story of Kang Ji-hwan's apparent sexual assault, as well as the sheer speed at which the investigation has taken place, guaranteed many photographers from South Korean media on hand to document the event.

Kang Ji-hwan wore a baseball cap and a breathing mask to cover his face during this very troublesome time. The future of his currently airing drama "Joseon Survival" remains in doubt, though in the immediate sense TV Chosun has stopped airing the drama and only confirmed that Kang Ji-hwan will not appear in any future episodes.
In a statement to the press, Kang Ji-hwan apologized to the victims, referring to himself as an older brother and them as his younger sisters. Specifically, he said he was sorry they were brought into a situation like this and promised to sincerely cooperate with the investigation. He also referenced Internet comments where they mentioned being hurt.
