[HanCinema's News] Kim Ha-neul Inspires With "The Wind Blows"

"The Wind Blows" has dramatically improved in the ratings this week, jumping from 3.88% on June 11th to 6.24% on June 18th. The spike has largely been atributed to the strength of Kim Ha-neul's acting as well as her character's arc. Mild spoilers follow.

Kam Woo-sung's character, Do-hoon, has been suffering from early onset Alzheimer's disease. Up until the eighth episode he has mostly successfully been able to hide it from his wife Soo-jin, who is played by Kim Ha-neul. This created a prime opportunity for Kim Ha-neul to unleash her powerful emotional acting talent, as Soo-jin agonized both over Do-hoon's suffering as well as her own actions up until then taken in ignorance of his illness.
"The Wind Blows" is quickly shaping up to be a triumphant return for Kim Ha-neul to dramas. While "The Wind Blows" is, like most famous Kim Ha-neul projects, a melodrama, the unique concept of being centered around an aging couple combined with the drama's strong artistic direction have elevated it above previous projects.
