[HanCinema's News] Kim Hye-eun Reprises "Dr. Romantic" Role in "Dr. Romantic 2"

As "Dr. Romantic 2" finished its extremely strong run on South Korean television, one surprise figure returned to the drama unannounced. Kim Hye-eun, who appeared in "Dr. Romantic" as Sin Hyeon-jeong, popped up in the drama's final stretch.

Kim Hye-eun was a bit of a deep cut. Even in "Dr. Romantic" her character had been credited as a special appearance, which made her return in a similarly low-key role that much more surprising. Originally she played the daughter of Chairman Shin, who had been played by Joo Hyun in the original drama. His character died, but Kim Hye-eun's came into new relevance as the executor of his will.

Though Kim Hye-eun's character originally had something of an antagonistic relationship with the title character played Han Suk-kyu, in "Dr. Romantic 2" she demonstrated eagerness to assist with his current hospital management issues. This is appropriate, as the two had reconciled their differences in the original drama. Meanwhile, Kim Hye-eun is currently appearing in "Itaewon Class" as the leader of a business group.
