[HanCinema's News] Kim Jae-chul Confirmed for "The Land of Happiness"

The film "The Land of Happiness" is the final project for actor Lee Sun-kyun following his death late last year. There he plays a man accused of assassinating the president back in 1979, his lawyer played by Cho Jung-seok. They face, among other forces, a leader of the Joint Chiefs played by Yoo Jae-myung. Subsequent to the film's release, however, interest has fallen upon this leader's right-hand man, Jin Tae-gon, whose casting was not announced prior to the film's release.

Jin Tae-gon is now confirmed to be played by Kim Jae-chul. Despite being forty-two years old, Jin Tae-gon is fairly new to screen acting. His first named credit was in the television drama "Hyena" back in 2019, whose character ended up being central to that drama's mystery. He also had a noteworthy role in "The King's Affection" in 2021 where he played the role of the king's bodyguard.

But most recently, Kim Jae-chul appeared in "Exhuma" as the man seeking assistance from the film's exorcists in regard to an ancestral curse that is plaguing his family. Despite his lacking a major name, Kim Jae-chul has had a significant impact on his projects in recent years, acquitting himself well as a strong supporting performer. Though he has no confirmed upcoming projects, it seems like only a matter of time before Kim Jae-chul makes another screen appearance.
