The Chinese magazine Pievision recently had a South Korean cover artist in the form of Kim Young-dae. Best known for his role in "The Penthouse" series of dramas, Kim Young-dae plays the son of the chief villain played by Uhm Ki-joon, who must grapple with his father's abusive behavior toward others. The role has been a major career booster for Kim Young-dae, with his showing significant charisma even in the role of a high school aged character.

Kim Young-dae has described his work playing the same character for a long time as a good experience, and claims to have learned a lot from his experienced elder co-stars. Kim Young-dae also claims to feel responsibility for his fans, with "The Penthouse" marking his big breakout role after five years of work. "The Penthouse 3" had ratings of 15.7% in its most recent episode, a new low for the drama which has significantly underperformed "The Penthouse 2" from earlier this year.
