[HanCinema's News] Lee Ju-myoung Talks About "Twenty Five Twenty One"

The retrospective romance drama "Twenty Five Twenty One" has been a big boon to the careers of its stars. Among these stars is Lee Ju-myoung, who played the role of the student class president and aspiring broadcaster Seung-wan. In a recent interview, Lee Ju-myoung talked about how she still has lingering feelings for her character. Lee Ju-myoung said that even a week after the end of broadcasts she still thinks about her character often.

Lee Ju-myoung won the role of Seung-wan through a competitive audition. She claimed that of the many auditions she has done over the years, she thought Seung-wan stood out as having unusually attractive and fun dialog. This feeling allowed Lee Ju-myoung to complete the audition with all of her heart, to apparent success. Lee Ju-myoung how people loved Seung-wan, and she spoke frankly, yet was still embarrassed by these facts. This is what Lee Ju-myoung thought was so charming.
Lee Ju-myoung made her debut as an actress in 2019 in "My Fellow Citizens" as a scheming schoolfriend of the lead character played by Choi Si-won. For Lee Ju-myoung to have gained a role of such prominence in "Twenty Five Twenty One" just three years afterward has marked her as a rising star. Lee Ju-myoung says she is happy with the state of her career, but says she wants to plan her next steps carefully.
Lee Ju-myoung noted that the increase in fame has been somewhat disorienting. Her Instagram follower count has increased tenfold. Referring to a favorite cafe, Lee Ju-myoung stated that of the fourteen times she has gone, the first ten no one recognized her. But in her four most recent trips, she was recognized every single time. Lee Ju-myoung described the experience as a mysterious one.
In regards to her favorite scene, Lee Ju-myoung said that she has quite a few strong impressions from her work on the drama. For a specific one, Lee Ju-myoung drew attention to the serious conversation her character had with her mother that led to tears. Lee Ju-myoung recalled preparing extensively for that scene, and feeling emotional pride having decided that she did a good job there. "Twenty Five Twenty One" ended on April 3rd and can be seen in its entirity on Netflix worldwide.
