On February 24th Awesome Entertainment issued a statement confirming that Park Seo-joon, who is represented by the agency, has contracted COVID-19. The result came from a PCR test that Park Seo-joon had taken this past February 19th. Park Seo-joon took the test as a safety precaution before going to a new filming location, and had also taken February 18th off to wait for the results. Following the receipt of the positive result Park Seo-joon immediately took a break from his current projects.

Park Seo-joon is not just vaccinated from COVID-19, but had also received a booster shot. He is reported to be showing no unusually bad symptoms. Park Seo-joon appears to have been preparing to start work on the drama "Gyeongseong Creature" which is set to air on television later this year. Two as-yet unreleased film projects from Park Seo-joon, "Dream - 2020" and "Concrete Utopia" have already completed filming and are expected to be released in South Korean theaters sometime this year.
