This news was reported by Hankyoreh on March 21st. Sources to the newspaper noted that an ongoing investigation is taking place as to how this happened.
Drunk driving cases are not normally reported to higher authorities except when the person being charged is a public figure. It is believed that Choi Jong-hoon offered money and other articles in approximately the amount of $2,000 in order to guarantee that local officials in Yongsan would keep the case quiet.
