[HanCinema's News] Press Conference Held for "Heartbeat - Drama"

In a recent press conference, Ok Taecyeon and other relevant persons discussed "Heartbeat - Drama" which opened on June 26th with ratings of 4.1%. Ok Taecyeon noted that in the era of streaming, fast results matter and people may not pay attention to a drama if the early metrics aren't strong even if the drama itself isn't bad. Ok Taecyeon also said that the current priority is making a drama that people will want to watch again.

Ok Taecyeon also acknowledged that "Heartbeat - Drama" shares its title with a well-known song from 2PM, the musical group with which he is affiliated, saying he often thought of this. In "Heartbeat - Drama" Ok Taecyeon plays a half-vampire who through circumstance has to live with an unpleasant woman played by Won Ji-an. Ok Taecyeon noted that the genre seemed dark at first glance, though after reading the script he realized the tone was more lighthearted and healing than that impression.

Ok Taecyeon mentioned that despite this genre, "Heartbeat - Drama" features a large number of computer graphics section, namely any scene where his character is in his vampire form. Ok Taecyeon claimed to think a lot about the parts where this would be necessary, since he had to change his acting accordingly. Won Ji-an for her part praised Ok Taecyeon for having a lot of energy, and said he had a bright disposition throughout filming.

Elsewhere, Park Kang-hyun discussed making his screen debut through "Heartbeat - Drama" as the second lead with his past work being in musical theater. Though nervous about the attempt, Park Kang-hyun emphasized that he values learning and challenges and would find meeting in the project no matter what. Yoon So-hee in the second lead plays a Joseon-era love interest for Ok Taecyeon's character as well as that character's modern day vampire equivalent.

Park Kang-hyun discussed compartmentalizing these roles in terms of helping herself to better do two at once. Director Lee Hyun-suk claimed to have worked his best from freezing winter to sweating summer in order to prepare the drama. "Heartbeat - Drama" had ratings of 3.5% in its second episode on June 27th.
