[HanCinema's News] Press Conference Held for "Hunt"
By William Schwartz | Published on
A press conference was recently held for the upcoming spy action film "Hunt" in Seoul. "Hunt" stars Lee Jung-jae, who also directs the film, as a spy who is attempting to locate a hidden spy, and runs across an assassin played by Jung Woo-sung in this search. Lee Jung-jae said at the press conference he originally only received an offer for the lead. This ended up transforming into a production-oriented role.

Lee Jung-jae said that he had long been interested in such matters and the production was still searching for a director. When asked about the appearance of "Hunt" at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, Lee Jung-jae claims that this was because he made a film that film-adjacent professionals wanted to see. Lee Jung-jae claimed to have worried a lot over how "Hunt" would be received at film festivals and was gratified by his invitation to the Cannes Film Festival.
Lee Jung-jae also claimed that espionage films were a long-standing interest of his, as he enjoyed the suspense that came from characters never knowing if others were as they claimed. Jung Woo-sung was also present at the press conference. Though he has known Lee Jung-jae for a very long time, the last time they appeared in the same film together was twenty three years ago. Jung Woo-sung said he had kept a close eye on Lee Jung-jae's work, and treader their reunification with care and fear.
Jung Woo-sung mentioned teasing Lee Jung-jae about how work was coming on the script, despite Lee Jung-jae's role on set technically being superior to his own rather than just that of a co-star. Jung Woo-sung knew that Lee Jung-jae had worked hard on the project and was in suspense about how well it would come out. Jung Woo-sung claimed that whatever the result, he knew that he would have no regrets working on the project, and this satisfied him.
Jeon Hye-jin-II was also present for the press conference, and claimed to have been enthusiastic about working with both of them. Heo Sung-tae related how he first met Lee Jung-jae in the elevator while they were filming "Squid Game" for Netflix, and that he met Jung Woo-sung after filming "The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful" at some event. He claimed that working with both at the same tim was like a dream. "Hunt" will be released in South Korean theaters on August 10th.
