[HanCinema's News] Seo Hyun-woo Wins Best Actor at BiFan for "Thunderbird"

On July 14th, the 26th iteration of the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan) announced the winners of its acting prizes. Seo Hyun-woo won the best actor award for his role in "Thunderbird" where he plays an older brother attempting to assist his younger brother, played by Lee Myeong-ro, of locating the critically important titular automobile. Seo Hyun-woo received strong plaudits for the emotional range of his role in a relatively simple story.

In a statement, Seo Hyun-woo said he was very happy to have acted so impressively as to win an award. Seo Hyun-woo called it an honor to receive this award, his first for acting in front of a camera, in the city of Bucheon. He thanked the relevant people for the present. Seo Hyun-woo also specifically noted that "Thunderbird" was produced by the Korean Film Academy, and said a lot of people worked very hard to bring this small movie to life and that he wanted to return the honor to them.
Seo Hyun-woo also thanked the festival organizers for having the courage to put on a serious film festival after three years of COVID-19. Seo Hyun-woo then thanked his family, saying that he was able an actor who is thought of as important thanks to their love. Seo Hyun-woo appeared in the recent internationally acclaimed film "Decision to Leave" and will also appear in "Adamas" which premieres on July 27th. "Thunderbird" will see a wide theatrical release in South Korea sometime in September.
