[HanCinema's News] "Single in Seoul" Begins Video-on-demand Service
By William Schwartz | Published on
On December 22nd, the romantic comedy "Single in Seoul" began its run on South Korean on-demand television services. The film stars Lee Dong-wook and Lim Soo-jung as characters trying to publish a book about single life, from the perspective of OK to be alone and not OK to be alone. "Single in Seoul" was only released in South Korean theaters on November 29th- its relatively quick move to on-demand services may have been designed to capitalize on the romantic reputation of Christmas.

"Single in Seoul" has earned 394,638 admissions as of this writing, and is still available in South Korean theaters as the twelfth most popular film overall. The numbers, while not very objectively impressive, are passable for films of this specific genre. As of yet, there are no plans for "Single in Seoul" to be released in overseas markets. Lee Dong-wook will next appear in "A Shop for Killers" on Disney Plus next month while Lim Soo-jung has no confirmed upcoming projects.
