On November 27th, the detective drama film "The Boys" appeared on various South Korean OTT platforms for purchase. These include IPTV, Digital Cable TV, TVING, Naver Series On, wavve, Google Play, and Apple TV among other platforms. This follows a November 21st statement from CJ ENM announcing the release. "The Boys" stars Sul Kyung-gu as a detective trying to determine what happened with a several youth at a supermarket robbery.

The realistically styled mystery is based on the Samrye Nara Supermarket Incident of 1999. While this incident is reasonably well-documented in Korean, there is very little information about it in the English language. Some 95% of self-reporting filmgoers at CGV gave "The Boys" a positive rating. Despite these plaudits, "The Boys" only had a modest box office performance, amounting to 469,460 admissions from November 1st, its day of theatrical release, to November 27th.
