[HanCinema's News] "The Roundup" Breaks Seven Million Viewer Mark
By William Schwartz | Published on
On May 31st actor Ma Dong-seok made a post to his Instagram account thanking fans for helping the movie get past the seven million viewer mark. In the picture attached to the post, Ma Dong-seok is smiling while holding some sort of glowing stick in a pose that emphasizes his right bicep. No reason was immediately obvious for why he chose to use this particular picture.

The statement by Ma Dong-seok that "The Roundup" has passed the seven million viewer mark was also premature, although it is likely true by now. Neither the Korean Film Council nor a major theater chain had confirmed the benchmark had been reached. "The Roundup" had 6,748,210 admissions as of May 30th, with 201,418 admissions reached on that day alone, so the seven millionth ticket for "The Roundup" was likely purchased late on May 31st.
