[HanCinema's News] "The Roundup" Breaks Six Million Viewer Mark
By William Schwartz | Published on
According to figures released by the Korean Film Council, "The Roundup" has passed the six million viewer mark at approximately nine in the morning on May 29th. This is the twelfth day of availability for the cop action sequel, and coming in at the final day of its second weekend. The speed with which "The Roundup" has hit this benchmark exceeds that of "Ode to My Father" in 2014 at sixteen days and "Miracle in Cell No.7" at nineteen days.

However, it is slightly slower than "Extreme Job" which hit that benchmark at ten days and "Parasite" which hit that benchmark at eleven days, both in 2019 before the arrival of COVID-19. "The Roundup" appears likely to exceed the box office total of its prequel "The Outlaws" which earned 6,880,546 viewers in 2017. "The Roundup" will face stiffer competition in the weeks ahead as it attempts to hit ten million viewers, with the Cannes-winning "Broker" coming out on June 8th.
