Hit Japanese Drama to Be Remade in Korea... "To All My Husbands" Set for Production Next Year

The hugely popular Japanese series "My Dear Exes" (Ōmameta Towako and Her Three Ex-Husbands) is set to be remade in Korea under the title "To All My Husbands".

Originally released in 2021 through Fuji TV and Netflix Japan, "My Dear Exes" is a human romantic comedy that follows a female protagonist who has been married and divorced three times, as she perseveres in her pursuit of happiness amid the unwavering support and subtly complex emotions of her three ex-husbands.

The series earned strong acclaim for the performances of lead actors Takako Matsu and Masaki Okada, as well as for the screenplay by Yuji Sakamoto. It was praised for going beyond simple comedy to offer a realistic and nuanced portrayal of adult women's lives and human relationships. The drama achieved both commercial success and critical recognition, attracting viewers not only in Japan but also overseas, which has heightened interest in the Korean remake.

Aiming for a 2026 broadcast, "To All My Husbands" has officially entered production. Studio Dragon and Island Pictures are overseeing planning, while I Will Media, known for leading the "K-content wave" with dramas such as "The Haunted Palace", "Moon in the Day", "May I Help You?", and "The Player", and Studio Flow, which has delivered both critical and commercial hits including "A Time Called You", "The Frog", and "Pro Bono", are co-producing the series. The project is expected to inject fresh energy into the 2026 Korean drama market.

Adding to the anticipation, writer Wang Doo-ri, who developed the original story and screenplay for the film "Love Untangled", and director Kim Jin-won-I, known for dramas such as "Just Between Lovers" and "A Time Called You", have joined forces as a proven hit-making team. Attention is now focused on which actors will come together for the project.
