CNN's Asian culture and travel website CNNGo interviewed the 24-year-old pop star and discussed his musical achievements and the key to his global popularity.

"Park's appeal lies in the fact that he has no filter in either language", CNNGo said. "Unlike other K-Pop idols, who reliably deliver manufactured and rehearsed responses, Park is famous for blurting out anything that comes to mind".

His new single "Abandoned" stayed at No. 1 on the KBS2 Music Bank chart for two weeks in a row and also topped iTunes charts in seven countries including Canada, Denmark and Japan.

Park aims to try his luck in the U.S. pop scene after studying music further and is "currently meeting with different producers to find 'the right fit'." He hopes to collaborate with figures like Usher, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z, but "whoever's down to work with me".

A more detailed interview with the singer will be available on CNNGo's Korean section when it launches on Thursday.
