KBS OKs return of drug celebrities

KBS, the country's largest broadcaster, yesterday allowed two celebrities - former top actress Hwang Soo-jung and pop singer Shim Shin - to return to its programs. Hwang and Shim were banned from TV after being convicted of taking drugs in 2001 and 2002, respectively.
"We decided to give them another chance to serve viewers with their entertaining talents", KBS said in a statement.
The decision followed in the footsteps of major broadcaster SBS, which earlier this month began featuring Hwang and Shim again.
Hwang made her comeback with the SBS drama "Salt Doll" while Shim appeared in entertainment program "TV Noraebang (TV Karaoke)". Shim is reportedly set to release a new album soon.
