According to film industry sources on November 24th, director Yeon Sang-ho will begin filming his new movie "Paradise Lost" in December.
"Paradise Lost" is a suspense thriller depicting events that unfold between the virtual and the real, and between AI and humans. Kim Hyun-joo, who previously worked with Yeon Sang-ho on multiple projects such as "Hellbound", "The Bequeathed", and "Jung E", will star as the lead once again.
Rising star Bae Hyeon-seong will also join the film, playing Kim Hyun-joo's son and forming a mother–son pairing with her.
Director Yeon recently achieved a major box office hit with his ultra-low-budget, 200-million-won (~US$140,000) film "The Ugly", which drew more than 1.06 million moviegoers. This has heightened curiosity about his next work.
Meanwhile, Yeon Sang-ho is also preparing for next year's release of "Colony". "Colony" is an action thriller about a mysterious virus that seals off a building, with infected individuals evolving into unpredictable forms that threaten the survivors. The film stars Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, and Shin Hyun-been.
