Kim Jin-woo and Han Ji-wan will take on the roles of Jang Gi-yoon, the chairman of The Elegant Empire Entertainment, and his wife Sin Joo-kyeong respectively, in the new KBS 2TV drama "The Elegant Empire".
"The Elegant Empire" is the story of a man and a woman's desperate, yet elegant revenge to recover their lost lives against a great power that neglects justice and hides truths.
Jang Gi-yoon, the chairman of The Elegant Empire Entertainment, a massive agency in the drama, is played by Kim Jin-woo who returns with a drama for the first time in a year and three months since "Again My Life".
Jang Gi-yoon is a perfect man with the brains, looks, and wealth achieved by his father but he is a character with a desire that is uncontrollable and a secret that can not be told. Kim Jin-woo will put on an act of gentleness and coldness.
Han Ji-wan who drew attention on herself in "The Witch's Game" as a dimensional villain, will play Sin Joo-kyeong, a real-life Cinderella who is dirt poor but marries rich to the chairman of The Elegant Empire Entertainment. She lives the perfect life as the good mother and wife but gets swept up in unexpected events and falls to the pits after losing everything including her husband and daughter.
Not only will Han Ji-wan make the acting transformation from villain to a woman of revenge in this drama, she's going to attempt at acting two roles as once. The other character she will be playing is Seo Hee-jae, a Korean Japanese who looks just like Sin Joo-kyeong. The relationship of the two mysterious characters and the two very different characters are expected to captivate viewers.
"The Elegant Empire" is directed by Park Gi-ho and written by Han Young-mi.
